To help us on our quest to spread the word about the power of seeds, we’ve aligned with a team of health and nutrition experts to elevate our focus on conscious snacking.

Meet our first two members of the team, Rania Batayneh, MPH & Katie Ferraro, MPH, RD, CDE. We’re thrilled to have Rania & Katie join our team to share their expertise in the field of Nutrition, Health and Wellness.



Rania Batayneh, MPH brings her expertise in the field of nutrition and wellness to change lifestyles for lasting results. In addition to her Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, Rania has tied her Nutrition Consulting practice with Wellness Coaching. As a certified Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches and The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Rania helps her clients to identify their obstacles and barriers to achieving their personal goals in fitness, wellness and stress management.

Rania served as the Health and Wellness Contributor for CBS KOIN Studio 6 in 2011, and has appeared on numerous television programs including The View for the Bay, AM Northwest, Better Portland, NBC Bay Area, FOX 2, as well as nationally on MSNBC. Rania has been quoted in Shape, Success, The Huffington Post,, U.S. News and World Report, Redbook, Ladies’ Home Journal, USA Today, iVillage, Fit Sugar and Woman’s Day.

Katie Ferraro, a native San Diegan and a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Public Health (MPH), is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and a recognized specialist in web-based nutrition curriculum development. Katie completed her BS and RD internship at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas and received her Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley with emphases in International Health and Public Health Nutrition.

In addition to nutrition consulting, Katie is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nutrition at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Graduate School of Nursing and an Assistant Clinical Professor in Nutrition at the University of San Diego.

Katie is also a contributor to a number of leading nutrition and health publications and has been featured in Women’s Health Magazine, Whole Living, Cooking Light, Fitness Magazine, Health Magazine, and Today’s Dietitian.
